Abstract

Education representation of Tumbang Randang village is a snapshot of the educational phenomenon of Indonesia. Completeness and availability of accelerated education through technology in big cities is inversely proportional to the condition of education in areas that are difficult to reach. Through community engagement, especially literacy and numeracy programs (abbreviated: calistung) through actual work study activities (abbreviated: KKN) as the requirement for the completeness of student administration as well as the responsibility of researchers to devote themselves and their knowledge by staying in the village for one month. Methods of research used ABCD programs calisung research, namely discovery (assessment), dream (dream), design (procedure), define (stabilization of goals). Results of research conducted through community engagement were that children not only gained knowledge, but also gained basic educational capital, namely enthusiasm, thirst for know-how, self-acceptance through independent training at home, and welcoming facilitators with high attendance. Furthermore, the PkM had an impact on the teachers' decision to provide additional Calistung equipment based on the researcher's final results in Tumbang Randang village. This included drawing books and pencils. Additionally, the teachers committed to continuing the program that had been facilitated by KKN. Another positive impact was that students were motivated to independently improve their knowledge with the supplies provided by KKN facilitators.
