Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Terhadap Perilaku Membuang Sampah Sembarangan di GKII Tiranus Poring, Kalimantan Barat

Abstract

Littering is a serious problem in many areas, including villages. Improper waste handling can cause environmental pollution, public health, and ecosystem damage. In this context, village community empowerment plays an important role in changing this behavior. This study aims to analyze village community empowerment efforts in overcoming littering behavior. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The research participants consisted of members of the village community, community leaders, and relevant officers from the village government. The results showed that village community empowerment can be done through various activities, such as counseling on waste management, training on making recycled products, establishing waste banks, and environmental campaigns. Through the active participation of village communities in these activities, there is an increased awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and a reduction in the amount of waste that is disposed of carelessly. The conclusion of this study is that village community empowerment plays a key role in changing littering behavior. Cooperation between the village government, community organizations, and other relevant parties is needed to maintain the sustainability of these empowerment efforts to create a clean and healthy environment for all villagers.
