Abstract

This Community Service is carried out at the GKE Bukit Rawi congregation with the aim of increasing the competence of Elders and Deacons in church services. The GKE Bukit Rawi congregation has been equipped with training for Elders and Deacons but it was only theoretical and there was no detailed technical training in church services. This created a feeling of lack of confidence in theirs abilities, so that they tended to hand over church services to the Pastor. This Community Service used the Participatory Action Research or PAR method which consists of three main activities, they are participation, research and action. The action that has been carried out at the GKE Bukit Rawi congregation is to provided training for Elders and Deacons in preaching and as liturgical leader/liturgos. The final results of this action is an increase in theological understanding and competence of Elders and Deacons in worship services, especially sermons and liturgy. Theological understanding will instill a sense of responsibility for Elders and Deacons in ministry as co-workers with the Pastor. Hope that will be sustainable, so that Elders and Deacons can experience changes and grow independently in their church services.
