Efektivitas Musik Instrumental Rohani terhadap Konsentrasi Belajar Pada Mahasiswa

Learning concentration is an important factor influencing students’ academic success. One method often used to improve concentration is listening to music, particularly instrumental music. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Christian instrumental music on students’ learning concentration. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 14 students from Class D of the 2024 cohort in the Christian Religious Education Study Program at the Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Palangka Raya, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an 18-item Learning Concentration Scale and analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test in Jamovi. Descriptive analysis showed that the mean concentration score decreased from 49.6 in the pre-test to 48.9 in the post-test. The paired sample t-test yielded t(13) = 1.35 with a significance value of p = 0.200 (p > 0.05). The findings indicate that there was no significant difference in students’ learning concentration before and after exposure to Christian instrumental music. Therefore, Christian instrumental music was not proven to be effective in improving students’ learning concentration.
